Stavros Sideris graduated from the Ohio State University in 1992, with a degree in Actuarial Sciences and Finance. After completion of his military duties in the Hellenic Navy in 1994, Stavros commenced his career in the Actuarial Department of Interamerican Hellenic Life Insurance Co. Stavros was responsible for the Actuarial support of the Group Insurance Schemes and left Group Assurances Department in 1997 as an Administrative Director.

After Stavros left Interamerican Hellenic Life Insurance Co., he joined Hewitt-Bacon and Woodrow in London , as an Actuarial Consultant for Corporate Group Pension Schemes until the end of 2001. He actively participated in a project supported by the UK Ministry of Finance, which had been outsourced to Hewitt-Bacon and Woodrow. The project's goal was to reimburse individuals who opted out from their Pension Schemes due to incorrect advice and lost out as a result of this.

Stavros also worked in the International Department of Bacon and Woodrow and provided advice to multinational corporations with regards to personnel pension schemes and the legal peculiarities due to pension rights transfers among different countries.

At the end of 2001 Stavros started working with Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Boston, providing Actuarial Services for Corporate Group Pension Schemes. In March of 2004, Stavros joined the Sideris Insurance agency in Heraklio, Crete, Greece.

Insurance Products

Life Assurance
There are many different types of Life insurance products. The popular ones are the "whole life" and the "term life" insurances. These products are very popular with people who would like to insure their lives and/or leave a lump sum to their families. Also, banks require individuals who buy property mortgages to insure their lives against death through a term life policy.

Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance aims to cover the medical expenses incurred due to illness after admittance to a hospital. Some plans can cover outpatient services and doctors appointments. Most of the plans offer a generous upper limit of medical expenses per annum with an excess (deductible) amount.

Pension
Pension plans provide a monthly pension or a lump sum at retirement and they are funded throughout the working life of an individual with monthly or annual contributions/premiums.

Automobile Insurance
Road Assistance Automobile Insurance is offered in a wide range of benefits ranging from the ones required by the government as a minimum insurance (Third Party Liability 500.000 euros bodily injuries and 100.000 euros property damage) to a fully comprehensive insurance which covers damages to our own vehicles. Most of the insurers also provide a motor care service which help policy owners at the time of the accident.

Home Insurance
Home insurance policies aim to protect the building and the belongings of our houses against many perils (e.g. fire, flooding, smoke, theft, burglary, explosion, etc.) For an additional cost home policies can cover damages due to an earthquake.

Industrial and Commercial Insurance
Industrial and Commercial insurance aims to fully protect the building and assets of companies against many perils (e.g. fire, flooding, smoke, theft, burglary, explosion, etc.). For an additional cost businessmen can cover the earthquake and loss of profit.

Boat Insurance
Similar to automobile insurance, boat insurance benefits range from the third party liability to a fully comprehensive insurance policy which covers damages to your vessel.

Liability
Liability insurance aims to protect you and your business against claims related to allegations of negligent activities or failure to use reasonable care.

Financial Products
They are usually offered as Unit Linked financial products through insurance corporations. Their purpose is to create a fund which will cover the financial needs of the policy holder at a certain time in the future.
